In a world of shrinking news media, Texas Energy Report was created to cover one of the state's most dynamic and important industries. Whether it is exploration, refining, pipelines, generation, transmission, renewables or alternatives, Texas is at the epicenter of a seismic change in how the United States and the world gets its energy.

TER is produced by the same people that do the 25 year old Quorum Report, widely considered the gold standard of Texas political reporting. Like QR, the publicatin includes several key components.

Ramrodded by veteran reporter John Moritz (formerly of the Fort Worth Star Telegram), the Energy Buzz will specialize in what is happening on the ground in Texas energy ranging from dedicated coverage of the Texas regulatory agencies to battles in the Legislature that affect the future of the industry. While there are numerous national publications on the industry, none drill down on Texas with the same focus we will bring to the coverage.

In addition, like its older sibling, TER provides a daily NewsClipping service. We don't try to include everything. Our mission statement is to limit our Clips to the two or three dozen stories defining what is happening in energy. While our NewsClips we include national media, our cache will be Texas.

One feature unique to TER will be the Texas 30, a daily listing of the closing prices of 30 key stocks that define the Texas industry. This daily snapshot will capture the health of the industry one quick look.

We invite columns from guest contributors whether they be policy makers, entrepreneurs or people with a strong point of view on industry controversies.

A work in progress, the Audio Video section includes podcasts and video interviews of key players in Texas as well as video clips from national media.

Readers of Texas Energy Report will have a real time ground level look at the intersection of Austin and the increasingly robust and ever-changing energy industry.
