Bill Raising Liability of Political Subdivisions In Electric Utility Contracts Passes Texas House
HB 931 raising the cap for monetary liability for any one person injured or killed from $250,000 to $350,000 taken on by political subdivisions who contract with electric co-ops or companies was passed by the Texas House of Representatives Thursday.
The bill also increases the political subdivision's liability to $350,000 per person and $700,000 for each occurance and $100,000 for each instance of destruction of property. plus court costs and lawyers fees and possible related costs.
