Houston's Talos, Consortium In "Historic" Gulf Crude Find
First Mexican private oil discovery in 80 years could be among the biggest finds ever with 2 billion barrel yield, company says
One of the biggest crude oil discoveries in history has been found in the Gulf of Mexico, a consortium of British, Mexican and US companies announced Wednesday.
The Zama-1 well, nearly 40 miles off the coast of Mexico's southeastern state of Tabasco, can yield an estimated 1.4 billion, up to 2 billion barrels of light oil, the companies said.
